Navigating the ProLaw Portal

When you log in to ProLaw Portal, the Portal Landing page displays.

Click the four buttons at the top of the page to navigate to the four areas of the Portal: Contacts, Matters, Transactions and Dockets.

Searching

In each area of the Portal, you can search for existing records. For example, in the Contacts area, you can search for an existing Contact record.

  1. First, select the field you want to search by. Click the down arrow in the Search By field to select the field.

  1. Enter the search term in the Keyword Search field.

The search is a "contains" search, which means that ProLaw finds all results that contain what is entered in this field. For example, if you search by Last Name and enter a "B" in the Keyword Search field, ProLaw finds all contacts with a last name that contain the letter "B."

  1. Click the Search button. A grid displays the result of your search.
  2. Select the desired contact. A page displays the details of the contact.

Navigating the Tabs

The detail pages in Contacts and Matters areas display tabs. For example, in Contacts you can navigate between four tabs; each tab displays different information about the contact:

Two buttons, Save and Cancel, display at the bottom of each tab.

Clicking the Save button on any tab saves all of the information on all four tabs. Therefore, if you edit the Notes tab, navigate to Related Contacts and add a related contact, and then click the Save button, ProLaw saves the changes to the Notes tab as well as the change to the Related Contacts tab.

The Cancel button works the same way. Clicking the Cancel button without saving edits cancels the edits made to all four tabs. Therefore, if you edit the Notes tab, navigate to Related Contacts without saving the edit, and then click the Cancel button, the change to the Notes tab is not saved.
